A Site Tour of Parkland Hospital 

Come tour the largest single-building healthcare project ever!  

Parkland Hospital is steeped in tradition.  It has been Dallas County’s answer to Community Healthcare for more than a century.  The needs of the community continue to increase and a 2.1 million square feet, single building hospital seemed to be the logical answer.  It’s the largest single-building healthcare facility in the history of the country and it is right here in Dallas.  Coordinating that effort is an enormous challenge.   Effective use of lean design within a CM at Risk contract, implementation of the Last Planner® System, integration of the most up-to-date VCM technology and development of pre-fabrication opportunities in the 60,000 square foot warehouse with all its attendant challenges are being experienced in the current construction of Parkland.  On Thursday, December 1, 2011, LCI-DFW will tour the Parkland site and hear from those implementing lean on America’s largest healthcare project.   Limited to 60 attendees so sign up early 

AGENDA:

4:30--Registration at Parkland

5:00--Program starts

5:30--Tour: Divide into three teams of 20 people that will alternately view the site, the pre-fab shop and the VCM capabilities in 15 minute shifts with 10 minutes of travel time. 

7:00--Reconvene in the VCM room to hear from project participants on the challenges they faced and answer questions.
